I have in one hotel with about 140 Mikrotik APs and have a problem when client switches from one AP to another.
Network works this way:
one ethernet cable with VLANs, 1 for managment, 100 for hotspot and 101 for internal wireless network
2 bridges - 1 with wlan interface bridged with vlan 100 and second virtual AP and vlan 101
So the problem starts when client switches from one AP to another too quickly and the ARP or something else blocks traffic.
example:
client is connected to AP1 and ping from main router->client and AP1->client and AP2->client works
client drops connection to AP1 and connects to AP2, if it happens to quiclky, ping from router->client and AP1->client stop working but ping works from AP2->client
This is a huge problem with Iphone and Ipad devices since they do really quick reconnect to another AP.
Does anyone have any expirience or solution for this? Maybe tweaking some bridge settings?
