I have this irregular behaviour where the Mikrotik HotSpot leases an Ip Address to the Client Cpe/unit but the client cannot be abble to browse not even open the Login page, But when i reboot the Router then the cleint is then able to Browse. It looks that it is the mac address that is blacklisted . when i change the cpe to bridge mode then the client is able to browse as the mac address of the Machine behind the Cpe is picked by the Mikrotik. What could be the reason for this?
you should make a supout.rif file at the moment when client can’t login, and send that file to support for analysis. make sure you are running RouterOS v4.4
i realised the the issue here was that even if IP Binding was put on the some routers the same Router would issue the same IP addresses as those already bound to certain MAC addresses which means that the router was not recognising that the same IP had been bound to some MAc address and stil issued the same IP to another user. THis should not be the case
i realised this was not a blacklist. The Mikrotik was leasing same ip address to the clients thus rendering one of the users offline due to ip address conflict but once i rebooted the mikrotik then a new ip is issued to the conflicting Clients. there are instances where an IP of a client that has been put on static IP is issued to another client making one of the conflicting IP’s offline. At this time the client has an IP address isssued but cannot browse. Any advise to avoid this
