I am interested in blocking windows updates on my home network as my workstation updates at work. The reason for this is when friends and family visit and connect to my wifi they use up all my bandwidth when their updates kick in.. I’m no expert so please bare with me.
Also I am connected to a wireless usergroup via NAT which also allows me to run windows updates from their network, will set that up but for now I need to block windows updates coming from bridge1 to ppp-out1 (usb 3G).
I have a rb951g-2hnd firmware - v6.14

I did some googling, and found that if my mikrotik device supports DNS blocking and wildcards i can block http:// and https://*.microsoft.com, I dont need to connect to microsoft url’s from home. Otherwise I can just block the following URL’s via DNS blocking.
