Blocking Activities on Hotspot when USER is not logged on...

Hi,

Does anyone know how to block internet activities on hotspot when user has not logged on? In my network now a client can ping anything on the internet and get replies even when not logged in, but as soon as he tried to request a page, he has to log in. Is there a way for me to disable this, because i tend to discover that when this happens, active viruses and trojans on users machines can go in and out and drain free BW.

Take a look at the firewall rules that the hotspot has created. There’s a specific rule to allow ICMP traffic in the hotspot-temp chain. Just disable or remove that and you’re golden.
