i know i should use web proxy / a seperate unit, but i assume i could just set a static DNS entry for: myspace.com to ip address 127.0.0.1 and this should work to block clients from browsing myspace.com
any ideas as to why this does not work? all the of the clients are set to dhcp and the DNS is set to the MT box..if i disable DNS all of the clients can no longer resolve anything so i know its using the MT dns.
any ideas? oh and i’ve tried clearing the DNS cache’s of the clients as well..
If you are just trying to block myspace and you don’t want to setup a proxy you can use the firewall to do the same thing as long as you know the ip addresses you want to block. IE just dns query that domain.
