blocking rune scape

how do i block the runescape website from my sons computer ?
His pc is on my internal lan interface with all of my other pc’s
i just want to be able to block this site.

Thanks in advance
Philip

if you only wish to block one webpage, you could use transparent webproxy and access list. make a new entry in the access list, with the runescape address, and the action=block and that will be it

Thanks Normis,
any chance you could explain it in more detail
i am using v2.9.51 on an RB153
have learnt a bit about firewall rules but now need to learn about blocking
certain gaming sites but soon adult sites.
Thanks
Philip

something like this should work in v2.9.51 too:

LuckyPhil - hahahah. I had to do the same thing with my 9 year old. We couldn’t take it anymore, he was glued to the PC. I just entered a content mangle rule to look for ‘runescape.com’ and then add to an address-list. Once I let that run for a few hours after him playing I picked out the 10-15 IP addresses that we’re runescape servers and just filtered them all. Nothing fancy.

Thanks Guys
Web proxy works a treat and i tried logging ip’s with mangle & address lists.
helps when i can see it written down somewhere with examples.

With a bit of a twist is there a script or something i can run to allow my son access for say an hour a day
then stop, without changing rules all the time ( as i have only told him that their server must be down when it’s not working
rather than telling him that i blocked him)

Thanks again
Philip
