Bond Auto negotiation OFF on SFP ports kills link monitoring

Hello all,

To make SFPs work, we are required to disable auto negotiation off. That causes port to be seen UP and thus link monitoring does not work.

I tried both MII and ARP for link monitoring and none work. If I unplug a cable from any of the two interfaces of the bond, the traffic does not shift to the surviving member port.

Of course only thing that work is broadcast mode for bonding, which fills both member ports of the bond with the same / duplicate traffic, so there is no failover / failback.

I am trying to use TLB mode, and that does not work because of link monitoring not working on the SFP ports. Same thing happens with LACP mode.

I am sure I am not the only one trying to setup bonding thru the SFP ports. Can someone who has it working and tested failover, advise as to what needs to be done to make this work?

I am running 6.47.6.

Thanks
