Hello to all, this is my first post, apologize me for english!
I have got 8 equal ADSL and a RouterOS 4.5 installed machine, and i would like to combine them into an active bonding, to have a (theoric) band about 6x(single adsl)
I read on internet a lot of articles, but everyone says a different thing.
Who say bounding rr, some one proposes PPC, someone uses a Cisco2126 and so on, i’m so confused!
Bonding is a method of combining all of your physical connections into one bigger connection. In order to use bonding however, you must control both ends of the bonded connection. This is because it is something that needs to be configured on both ends. If all of your DSL lines are from the same ISP, then you can contact them and see if they support any form of bonding and if they would be willing configure it on their end. You can think of bonding like setting up a tunnel between two points that uses multiple physical interfaces to transmit the actual data.
Most other methods of “combining” multiple internet connections is going to be what is known as Load Balancing. PCC, Policy Based Routing, ECMP, etc. are all load balancing setups. Any given connection going out of a physical interface is not going to be able to consume more bandwidth than what that physical interfaces is capable of, but because you can have multiple connections going on among multiple end users all lines are used, giving you more bandwidth than what you would have with one line.
