Bonding and fastpath on CCR1036 and CCR1072

Hey all,

I am working out the fastpath feature of the RouterOS 6 and I am wondering what is meant by “bonding interfaces - rx only (since 6.30)” on http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Fast_Path for devices such as CCR1036 and CCR1072. My understanding is that:

  • This features in support on all ports on CCR
  • But in case of bonding (LACP) only the receiving frames are fastpathed

My question is therefore, what happens if the CCR has 2 upstreams physical ports in a bonding “1” toward a transit provider and two downstreams ports in a bonding “2” toward a switch?

I am trying to figure out the performance I can expect if I bond two 10Gbps ports together on a CCR1072 device, since the Fast Path reads “bonding interfaces - rx only (since 6.30)”. It is not clear the kind of performance we can expect out of the regular datasheet.

Has anybody tried that? Can I do near line-rate with 64-bytes packets?
