What is the MT reccomended config for bonding two wireless links into one?
Do I have to use EoIP? What is the best link monitoring for atheros based cards? It says MI or MII depending on driver, MT wrote the driver, does that mean it supports MII?
I have two Nstreme Turbo Links on a pair of RB333 and I want to bond them. I have not used MT bonding before and want as much info as possible before I fire it up. I have read the wiki but am still confused on why I need EoIP as my config does not have a cloud in the intermediate steps. It is a single hop link.
I have turned on bonding but the only mode that seems to pass data is rr. Nstreme dual also works but does not really get me where I want to ultimately be.
Nstreme2 on RC13 seems less than stable under heavy load. the speed varies wildly when I do any download testing over it. Varies between 6mbit and 200kbit/s.
I had better results just running a single interface in turbo mode.
There is nstream dual, there is bonding of the links, and full duplex routing ..
I have had some people have better luck in a not so friendly RF environment to run Full duplex routing, if you don’t need full duplex, then bonding the interfaces may be the simplest method. Else, in a decent RF environment , nstream2 works great.
