bonding rr - not using all available capacity

Hi,
I got the following:
A link with an antenna with two Linkra microwave radios at each end. Thus 2 radios on one antenna. This setup does not do link balancing or aggregation so I installed a MT750GL at each end. Eth4 and eth5 connects to the radios and eth1 connects to a fibre media converter (thus 1 gig).

I use balance rr with arp monitoring but although the balancing works fine, I only get 95 mbps tcp throughput. Testing the link without the MT and only using one Linkra radio at each site, I get more than 300 mbps.

I have put the bonding and the eth1 in a bridge with the IP on the bridge.

Any idea what might be causing the blockage?

Have you checked the CPU resources? Its possible that router is not powerful enough? Also you could check without bonding and see if the router was capable of moving the volume?

I don’t have much experience with bonding so I don’t know how well it works.

nope. mt 750gl is powerfull enough.

Do you get the same results through the 750gl without the bonding enabled?

If you are just doing routing, the 750gl might be able to handle this(not sure), but with the firewall enabled, I doubt it.

hi biomesh,

i am going to do that tomorow and see how its works.

I am just doing bonding, no firewall, nothing else.

CPU runs at max 27% when bonding runs at 99 Mbps.

well..
i changed setup and are only running one link.i otherlink disabled and switched off. no bonding. link is still running on 98 mbps tcp with udp bandwidth test giving me 352 mbps.

i am quite sure the issue must be with the MT750.

now to figure out what and where!!!
