Bonding with ALB

Ok so I have tried bonding every way till Sunday I think and still have issues. My setup is as follows.

I have my mdf in one building and idf in another. I currently can only use P2P over the phone pairs to make a connection. Each line can get me about 50 megs. I want to bond this two P2P lines so I can get 100 megs from my mdf to my idf all internal network. I am using rb750up which maybe the problem not sure.

At the MDF I have the 750 configured with bonding mode=balance-alb slaves ether2,ether3 primary=ether2.
At the IDF my 750 has all the ports just bridged together.
All my traffic will only go out one port and not both.

Any thoughts?

Have you tried bonding them with layer 3?

Tried layer 2/3 on the bond same result. Tried 3/4 and it caused a broadcast storm.

Any thoughts on the bonding?

Hi,

what do you mean with “all my traffic”?

TLB/ALB bonding works per MAC address, so a connection from host A to host B will always use only link #1 for example. A connection from host A to host C might use link #2. So, only in the case host A has connections to hosts B and C, both links will be used.

What kind of devices are you using to connect your MDF with the IDF? If ALB/TLB bonding does not work, it might be due to these devices messing around with the MAC addresses of the two segments (MDF and IDF).

Thanks APE.
I will try it again with two different devices that maybe what I am missing as I am only testing with 1 device.

Also I am connecting an RB750UP at the idf and a crs125-24g-1s-RM at the mdf
