brandnew router not responsive adter hostname change

I just installed a brandnew router and logged in using telnet. One of the first activities was to change the hostname in the console interface. Unfortunately I assume that I put some CR-LF after the new hostname.

Now my router does no longer allow a login.

I can ping the router, it responds on the network, from an outer perspective everything is fine, but I have the impression that I locked myself out.

Is this a known scenario? How can I fix this?

Hi,

you always can enter via serial port using terminal.

Did you tried to use winbox to enter?

You should be able to connect directly to the router using WinBox on both IP and MAC levels - both of which don’t require a hostname.
