I have a RB333 with a point to point link to a RB133c i get -65dbm signal, 38db Sig to noise, link reports 36/36Mbps. When i do a bandwidth test on this and any of my other p2p links i can never seem to get over about 10-12Mbps tcp. other links include RB533 to RB333, RB533 to RB533s
Id love to get some of the speeds i read about in the forums. what other info do you want? what am i doing wrong?
How large of a channel are you using? 20mhz? 10mhz?
A rough breakdown with your hardware:
10mhz channel is going to provide about 15Mbps maximum (one direction at a time)
20mhz channel is going to provide about 28Mbps maximum (one direction at a time)
Also, are you using Nstreme? On point to point links it is always better to use Nstreme (in all the testing I have done with over 40 current links, up to 73 miles).
for me pair of 133c with 2.9.50 have 2,2 MB/s real troughputpair of 532a have about 4 MB/s real troughput.it is simple wds bridges.
do you use nstream on 133c? it have slow cpu.for high speed ptp links you need:
power boards like 333 or 600 or PC router with fast cpu.
stable signal
well configured system
4)5-turbo if it is allowed in your country
Disable all you dont need, uninstall all unneeded packages.For example, on 133c I have installed only system, wireless and routerboard packages.
If you just need a WDS p2p, the 411 has impressed me. At 5GHz turbo, I’ve gotten around 20mbps in one way, 17 and 12 in bandwidth tests both directions. I need time to test more thoroughly.
i have tested 411 too as wds bridges.At table with ROS 3.3 i`ve got stable 3 MB/s (24 mbps) with 5Ghz and around 5 Mb/s(40 bmps) one way with nstreme enabled.
