Bricked hAP ac (962UiGS-5HacT2HnT)

Hi there,

I tried to upgrade two of my 962UiGS-5HacT2HnT and somehow they are both stuck in an endless boot loop. I tried to get them into netinstall mode by holding the reset button for about 10 seconds, the SFP LED flashes, turns solid, turns off, I release the button but a few seconds later, the devices reset again and continue with the loop.

Any tips on how to get them properly reset and back into default mode?

I can;t say about this product, but on hap ac2 the reset button is physically not simple to keep pressure on for 15 seconds without interrrupt
and you do not feel any click or release (not like on some other devices)
I need on average 4-5 time to make it work (I keep pressing until it shows in Netinstall)
So make sure you keep pressure on the button for all the time …

Thank you for your reply!

Unfortunately I don’t think its a problem with the button. The LED indicates that the different modes are triggered (blinking, staying on, then turning off) so I don’t think the behaviour is related to a problem with the button.

Have you ever used netinstall before or is it your first attempt ever? The issue may be that the device doesn’t get a response from netinstall so it continues the boot.

there are some issues with the device communication with netistall, i have had luck different times setting the speed&duplex to 10Mbps Full Duplex, or 100Mbps Full Duplex,

last time i had luck with 100Mbps Full Duplex

I used Netinstall a few years ago but I do not have much experience with it. I followed the wiki article https://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Netinstall and also tried a switch between PC and router but to no avail. About 2 seconds after I release the reset button after the LED turns off, the router starts rebooting again and NetInstall does not show anything.
