I’ve been testing 6.29 through 6.33.x, had a few snags.
Without fail if I downgrade the system to 6.20 through 6.27 (which I’ve had good luck with) the system hangs.
Any tips guys?
I’ve had to netinstall two devices due to this. So far it looks like my office AP (test monkey) is going to be restored through serial port. The rest wouldn’t even respond to the serial port.
Hi,
you lost connection to those routerboards through wlan cards or they really got bricked after downgrade?
I believe it was probably problem with disabled wireless package (after downgrade) but it depends on this question.
I had a similar issue (with RB450G if I remember correctly) and it was related to the firmware.
Board was running FW 3.22 and I upgraded to 3.24 after ROS upgrade (I think it was 6.30 at that time).
6.29.1 would than fail after downgrade. I used the backup bootloader, which booted correctly) and downgraded the FW to 3.22 (included in 6.29.1) which fixed the issue.
BTW, 3.22 works ok with 6.29+ and I kept it that way.
The first one was an RB750UP, completely non-responsive.
The second was an RB433AH, lost access by wireless and ethernet. I could log in through RS232.
After downgrading I reset using an RS232 and restored settings via script, everything works fine.
Looks like a service is hanging on boot. Wish I had taken a screenshot of when I gave the reset command. It did say a service was “exceeding the 13 second timeout” or something like that. I think it said raccoon service?
