Bridge 2ghz (A-2Hn) and 5GHZ (A-5Hn)

Hallo ,

i have this problem , i have bought and installed the a-2hn (connected throught lan cable, and extension to the area with wirelless) antenna and all worked perfectly , but due the loss of signal on some areas i decided to get another one to cover the rest of the offline areas, i bought the a-5hn.

I tried following some tips and articles on wiki.mikrotik.com but i couldn’t solve anything.

So i am asking you this …

  1. Can i make those two antennas to work as Station and AP ???
  2. If so can someone guide me or tell me what to do ?? Pleasee )
  3. If Not which one is preffered to change as an antenna so i can get the max coverage and best quality of those two ?

Thank you

  1. You will not be able to have a wireless connection between a 2Ghz and 5Ghz radio
  2. To extend your network with the minimum additional hardware then you want another 2Ghz radio and pair it with the existing 2Ghz radio using WDS. http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Wireless_repeater
  3. You probably want to stay with 2Ghz unless you feel you have enough demand for a 5ghz AP

Thank you very much i will do so

Can you tell me if i can use the 5ghz antenna as a single External Antenna without problems ??

I’m not sure what you want to do with it. Do you mean the Groove A5hn or a 5 Ghz antenna you have?

My bad , yes i mean the A5hn antenna.
