Is there any chance to make a bridge (maybe at 108mbps) between an TRENDNET TEW-450APB ACCESS POINT, 108Mbps and a Mikrotik with TRENDNET TEW-443PI PCI ADAPTER, 108Mbps?
Hi InoX
I used since one year and a half TrendNet equipments, very good stuff. Some months ago i purchased a MT RB532 and set it up (actually I’m still working on it, no time to dedicate much to it) as a base transmitter. And it works good with them.
I’m using TEW 450APBs in client mode with RB and they work just fine. Didn’t try bridge mode, but I think there should not be a problem.
A far as what you are asking specifically, I don’t think there should be problems to have high thruput, but I’m not clear what you want to achieve. You intend to have the link between MT and TEW 450APB, right? What’s the use of TEW-443PI here? Or i misunderstood and you want to have a link between MT and TEW-443PI?
Anyway, bear in mind that you cannot achieve 108 mbit thruput, no way. With proper expertize you can achieve half or less of it, but it depends on the case.

TEW-443PI is in a PC with Mikrotik instaled. The problem is that I use Edimax 7206g as a client(Realtek inside) and I wonder if Trendnet is better. I want to make a bridge between an PC with Mikrotik and a AP because the AP is small and I can’t install a PC at one location but I want to get ~50mbps (108mbps) on the link. The distance is 1.5km with full LOS and 24dBi grid.
I wonder which would be the largest transmit power antenna supported by the TrendNet cart (maybe you can damage the cart by putting a very powerful antenna)? What configuration options has this cart in MikroTik environment (are there options under Linux firmware (if any) for turbo mode)? I never used this setup, that’s why I cannot answer.
To see if TrendNet is better or not, all you have to do is give it a try.
