I’m considering upgrading to a RB450G to gain a few extra gig (switch) ports without much complexity.
I’m wondering…what performance can I expect out of two (or three) ports on the RB bridged to each other?
If I run high volumes there, does that affect my CPU much?
My existing network has a managed switch connecting to the Mikrotik. My managed switch (Cisco 48 port) only has two gig ports…I’d like a few more. I’d rather not buy a dumb switch just for more port density and I can’t afford a nice managed switch. So…I figure a bridge on the Mikrotik for a few more access ports should do it for me.
This is a home office environment, but it supports multimedia. So some more gig would be nice.
Opinions?
Thanks
Scott
