Hi MikroTik forum members!
I’m new on the block, but willing to learn!
I have a number of Ethernet-only devices that need Internet access. I have a RouterBOARD RB951Ui-2nD (hAP series) to solve the problem. I would like to create a bridge to the local Wi-Fi network and make Internet access available to all five Ethernet ports on the router.
I’ve set up the bridge and connected to a network (with the correct security profile) through wireless. I have a default gateway (192.168.43.1) set up that I got from using the Windows command prompt to determine the network default gateway. The bridge has, I think, a suitable address (192.168.43.5/24). The ping test fails, so I’ve clearly done something incorrectly.
I’ve attached the support output file, if that provides any clarity. Thanks for your time.
Sincerely
sparkbee

Post a hand drawn schematic on how the 951 is wired to your router and rest of the network, otherwise it will be difficult to help.
Hi pukkita
RouterOS version: 6.38.5 (updated today)
I’ve attached screenshots that show the information I’ve entered. Also, see goal.pdf (also attached) for what I am trying to do.
Right now, I’m using an Android smartphone hotspot as the test WLAN to connect to.
I looked at the Firewall settings (screenshot attached) and saw some strange things there. Not too sure how to approach that.
Sincerely

I made contact with MikroTik Support, it turns out there is a pre-set setup for this kind of network connection. It is called CPE (Customer Premises Equipment) and can be set up via the Quickset menu (available in Winbox and Webfig; I used Winbox). You can thus connect Ethernet-only devices to a WLAN by bridging with the 951 in the CPE mode.

Thanks to Antons from MikroTik Support for suggesting the use of the CPE mode.
