This is not only my first post on this site but also my first time setting up wireless equipment. So please bare with me.
I’m quite familiar with IP and setting up networks however Wireless is something new.
I have 2x RB411 units completely reset to factory defaults.
I need to set them up to communicate with each other as if they’re extending a LAN cable.
All information I’ve got so far, is that I have to set them up as a bridged connection and that I have to add the one’s MAC address into the other’s MAC address for Access filtering.
My questions of course are:
1.) To which device do I add the filtering? Just the wlan or the ether and bridge too?
2.) HOW do I do this?
3.) When I want to setup the one side to ping the other side, which device do I setup with my current IP range? (ether, wlan or bridge)
4.) Is any routing required? If so, what and how do I achieve this.
If anybody could assist me, I’d gladly appreciate it.
