Broadband subscribers maximum number

Dear all,

I am in the middle of deploying a wireless ISP with userbase of hundreds, in the first stage we are making the PPPoE server on the edge facing the subscribers directly, each one is considered NAS and connected through the backhaul to the Billing system/Radius server.

I was wondering how many PPPoE subscribers with bandwidth mgmt the RB2011LS-IN can handle, the traffic might reach 45 Mbps for every 100 subscribers, can it handle like 200-300 or so?

best regards,
Laith

Running QoS I would use at least an 1100 series or CCR instead.

The 2011LS-IN also has a Level 4 license which only supports 200 PPPoE tunnels.

If RB2011LS-IN would carry the load up to 200 or even 180 subscribers (60-70 Mbps) then it would be fine for me.

1100 is priced around 350 USD which make it out of budget to deploy one on each reseller site, on the other hand RB2011LS-IN is around 90 USD which makes it perfect choice in our case, beside it has an SFP interface.

Best regards,
Laith
