BTest Server / Bandwidth Test, consistently 1 mbit send direction

So I’m at a bit of a loss here. Setup a CHR instance on our xen stack and getting pretty consistently 1 mbit when “send” is selected as the direction (which appears to be when the selected server “sends” information to the tik I’m running the test on. The receive test comes in at 600+ mbits.

If I reverse the test and run a “receive” from the CHR to the local tik (rb4011) I get 1 mbit. Doing the “Send” test from the CHR to the local tik gets 600+ mbits.

I pulled up a VM instance on another box, an ESXI instance, different hardware, same results.

Tried TCP vs udp, same results. Packet captures of the interface on udp mode show a flood of udp data nothing very strange there.

For giggles tried a random pair of mikrotiks through then on two services (I work at an ISP) configured for 25/3 and 12/2 and same result, 1 mbit.

Decided to plug two tiks in back to back and run a test, get 300+ mbits from a hex s and a gig on the rb4011.

Kinda confused/lost where to go from here?

Anyone have any good ideas?

The CHR instances are limited to 1 Mb/s, when You don’t buy a license. I believe it is possible to get a time limited demo license, to test it.

Actually discovered this before reading your post Paternot but thanks, that’s exactly it!

Did 60 day free trial license, 1 GB now.

Going to buy a 10G license.
