It seems in the 5.11/5.12 firmwares that using the character ( in passwords causes problems. Recently I tried to set the password to something using this and it seemed to accept it but then I couldn’t log in to the router using the password entered.

after that, I can login via WinBox with password (t)
You’re probably experiencing password bug as described in other thread (not by me):
“changing any attributes of local users unbelievably clears password on that user!
for example if you change the group of a user or set comment on user or even disable and enable a user, its password will be cleared.
I’ve also tested It on 5.12…
It is a major security bug”
