Trying to enable compression for wireless interface on mipsbe routers, leads to losing wireless link…
Compression isn’t supposed to work in Mips-be devices. What version of RouterOS do you use? There shouldn’t be such option in new versions
3.14 (pi?![]()
Look in the wireless info for capabilities, there shouldn’t be any compression name.
If you change any setting and click ok, then it will disable/enable the wireless card..
Well…
I still can enable compression via console:
/interface wireless set wlan1 compression=yes
After doing it router becomes inaccessible…
just tried that - link disconnects, but connects back after few sec.
That setting doesn’t mater, you can monitor the client and you will see that the compression isn’t used.
Anyway, why do you want to change that setting if the compression isn’t supported for RB400 series boards?
It disconnects and reconnects back – true.
But you won’t be able to connect to it…
At least, if it is working in station-wds mode.
I use script, which configures basic router settings.
One of them is compression for all wireless interfaces.
Anyway, there MUST be NO possibility to use a feature, if it is not supported…
just tested, works fine even with the station-wds mode - connection is established.
There are few settings that are not used for all the wireless chipsets and they are listed there - you can change them but that will not effect the wireless card, it will only reenable the wireless card after the change.
Anyway…
In our situation, after link reconnection, RX signal equals to 0 and no ping or mac-ping can be done to client side…
