[BUG] Radius Hotspot Authentication hangs RouterOS

Good Day,

We’re running various Mikrotik Hotspot systems on i386 platforms.

We are authenticating Hotspot users to radius. The moment Tik receives the “Access-Accept” the router hangs completely, no messages on console or elsewhere - physical reboot/power cycle is the only way to recover.

In order to test this we’ve tried using multiple hardware and RouterOS versions. Outcome is as follows:
Works Correctly: RouterOS 3.4–>3.13
Hangs system: RouterOS3.14 → 3.20

Can anyone else replicate this? Or has anyone else seen this behaviour?

Anyone else test or experience this?

Mikrotik moderators: As I’ve bought many a license but they are past 30 days … do I need to buy another to send you this bug to get looked at/fixed?

do you have watchdog enabled on that device?
What kind of hardware you are using there? If it it multi-cpu PC, then try to disbale the multi-cpu support.
Have you tried to use different MB, maybe some RouterBoard?

i had the same problem too, a few months i go, so with hotspot and radius auth i sticked with 3.13
