I just updated to the 3.20 RouterOS and was pleased to see that the hotspot profile’s now have a “MAC Format” field. I through that I would finally be able to get rid of a third party authentication server and just go straight from the AP hotspot to radius.
However, there seems to be a bug in the system as the radius debug shows that the “User-Name” attribute is in the “XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX” MAC format instead of the “XXXXXXXXXXXX” format that I selected on the RADIUS tab in the hotspot profile. The “Calling-Station-Id” attribute has the proper mac format though.
Unfortunately, the accounting software that I use does not allow me to use colons in the login name so I need the “User-Name” radius attribute to follow the selected “MAC Format”.
