I’ve been very impressed with Mikrotik’s products. I run a RB1000 and really like it, it’s simple to administer, fast and the price is right, a perfect router for my needs.
Now I would like to add wireless (802.11 a/b/g/n) to this network, with only a single access point to start with, and then, maybe 2 additional ones.
Would the RB800 equipped with an appropriate wireless card with be a good choice for this purpose? I’ve heard of “issues” with the RB751U-2HnD, at the following link http://www.amazon.com/Mikrotik-RB751U-2HND-WIRELESS-802-11b-1000mW/product-reviews/B005Z7QHDW/ref=cm_rdphist_1?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=0&filterBy=addOneStar, but question the validity of those reviews.
Its purpose will be mostly small frames, firewall+connection tracking, and 100Mbps of traffic.
802.3af would be nice.
Please let me know which device would be the most appropriate.
Thank you,
Jerome
