Now i have an xeon 5160/1GB ram machine. It does about 1200 pppoe sessions and 70/20 Mbps of traffic with load about 60%. Is here someone who managed to build a machine that can handle for example 4000 sessions? What hardware?
I’m trying to find hardware like that, i thing that http://www.mikrotikrouter.com/ has some hardware that can do near your requirement.

but i will wait until Mikrotik RB1000 reviews available
