Building inhouse access point (dual band) with NetMetal 5

Hello,

I´d like to try Mikrotik for inhouse setup.

  • NetMetal 5 RB922UAGS-5HPacT-NM (black edition seems to be new)
  • R11e-2HPnD

I need omnidirectional antennas, so

what (small) antennas should I get?
– (3 pieces) for 5.0Ghz?
– (2 pieces) for 2.4Ghz?

I use this setup as well in a bunch of places.

You need 3 5GHz and 2 2.4GHz antennas and don’t forget the MMCX to RP-SMA pigtails for the R11e.

beware of not power on the radios without pigtail and antenna connected to them

powering a radio without antenna can damage it

Thanks for the information. Do you have any recommendation for the antennas?

If I can find that last ones I bought I’ll post the part numbers but they were normal 3dbi RP-SMA sticks. Don’t get dual-band ones. Get 3 tuned for 5GHz and 2 tuned for 2.4GHz.
