Currently I’m working on a hotel network with HotSpot for users.
At this moment I got Omnitik U-5HnD wich is located on highest hotel building, and it got optical link with all other hotel buildings.
RB750 is “hotspot server”.
My question is what would be good solution to get for user access points?
RB-s that will connect to that OmniTik and share it’s internet to clients that are connected to that RB.
Assuming your backhaul antennas will be mounted outdoors on the other buildings, and you want to bring client coverage inside the building, the most affordable solution would be an SXT on each building, 711s inside the buildings for client coverage, and maybe a 750UP in each building to wire the devices together and power them (unless you need only one or two 711s per building). You’re probably just as well off using the OmniTik as the hotspot controller, BTW.
Does 711 got 2 wlan interfaces? One for link with OmniTik and one for client connections on it?
If you really want to have a single backhaul & client unit, you might use RB411ARs if you don’t mind using the integral 100mW b/g radio for client connections, or some flavor of 433 with whatever client radio you want to use. Add a 5GHz 802.11n radio to link to the OmniTik, install the RB in a 5GHz dual-polarity enclosure antenna, and mount the 2GHz antenna(e) of your choice. But interior coverage will be less than ideal, especially at the far ends of the buildings. My advice would be to bring the client radios inside the buildings if at all possible.
On top of everybuilding to put RB411AR with additional wlan card, and configure it like this:
Builtin wlan - with some “link” antenna - Connect to OmniTik
Additional wlan - put sector or omni for clients to connect on.
And on every building make the same. Good thing is that I can cover 90% rooms just by setting up 2 sector antennas, because those rooms
will have view on antnenna wich is like 20m~ away from it. So there are no obstacles like walls, trees or something.
Would this work fine? Atleast for outdoor, I’ll leave indoor for later assigment, and… is there any way I could contact you, just some
advice if I need it?
