Burst traffic QoS for public access WiFi devices

Hi, I’m new to RouterOS and MikroTik but what brought me here is this: I need a router that can do QoS for an existing WiFi access point solution using OpenMesh WAPs.

The network topology is basically: OpenMesh WAPs <----> Gigabit switch <----> Mikrotik Router <—> Cable Internet Modem

The OpenMesh Virtual Controller does have some QoS functionality but it does not have the ability to set burst traffic speeds/limits. Could I use a Microtik router inline as above to allow each WiFi client’s traffic to be shaped via QoS?
Would the hEX router be able to do this assuming upto 300 WiFi end-user clients doing basic web browsing?

Can anyone see any pitfalls/limitations with the above solution?
