it’s not available in winbox… where are you reading about it? I don’t see really anything listed in the manual…
anyone know if it can be used at the same time as nstream (or is it just redundant, or does it actually make things worse?)
I only seen references to it when doing a “print” on the device

it is listed there a few times (do a search on the page), but there’s nothing really usefull about it.
Atheros FastFrames was supported in v2.8 but was removed in v2.9.
It usually gave 1-2 mbit better performance without taxing the cpu as much as nstreme. A feature like FastFrames requires cooperative design with the operating system to be really effective but 1-2 mbit was decent enough for me.
if it was less intensive then nstream’s framer policy, why was it removed?? there are many cases where 1-2mbps would make a big difference, and many cases where the lower CPU load is more important then the extra performace gained by nstream, but you can’t cut back on all of the performance…
the ability to use it, or nstream’s framer policy (or maybe in conjunction with???) would be usefull to some people I’m sure…
I prefer nstream but in some cases (interference) I can’t use nstream so this would be great ![]()
Has anyone fiddlied with bursttime in the wireless settings?
what would be a good “us” to start with?
not yet.. I’ve already got a test for that planned this week, two 5ghz ptp links, -40 to -50 between each side of the link, yet far enough away from each other that opposite links see the other link around -80…
we’ll see if the schedule works out… I’ll try to remember to post the results in this thread…
