Hi guys. I have an AP running 2 sectors in 2.4 range and a few clients. I have a client connection that set up to see end user performance. At time the i cannot connect to the AP. I saw the registration and see that one client has 1mbps throughput due to low signal. If the AP was pushing 1mbps would that mean that there is no reserved bandwidth? I say this since i once read that you network throughput only operates at the lowest connecting units throughput?
One bad client can (and often will) use up most of the air time on an AP in form of retransmissions.
Make sure you are not using distance=dynamic with 802.11 mode as that will only make such problems much bigger.
Thanks you for the reply! Sorry i have been traveling but am now back in my home town.
On the distance i imagine you mean on the client units? on wireless protocol i leave as unspecified. is this bad?
one other unrelated issue. the channel that i have been issued by ISP is causing low throughput. Sector panel is from 2.1 to 2.5 so that is covered but on client i think they are only 2.4 normal. is there setting in mirkotik that will affect the antenna its connects to? also using 10mhz width. does this apply to the above? would nstreme improve this?
i came back from holiday and already have big head ache
