Hi,
Can CAPs keep working when CAPsMAN goes down for any reason? It does not matter if in that time there is no control with the access list.
I ran test powering off CAPsMAN and all clients disconnect and cant see SSID.
CAPsMAN config have local forwarding enable.
I couldn’t find this problem in the forum search.
Thanks in advance.
Put a back up controller on site?
In wireless, there is a configuration option to have more than one caps-man.
I tried running my inlaws wireless from my office… and any hickup caused the APs to “return to adoption mode.”
All my caps-man jobs have been with the ROUTER ONSITE running Caps-Man. The 2 exceptions are here at home where I am running it on the AP itself (a test to see if it behaves when i bring in more APs.) And one install where they wanted to keep the ISP router. I set the controller running on the cAP AC closest to the router.
The install where its running on the cAP AC… I have had a about a dozen complaint calls. But I am likley to mark that up to MIkrotik APs inability to deal with noisy areas. So we have offered to refund the price of the cAP ACs and will credit that towards a ruckus wireless system.
