Can CF cards have ROS updated or installed by a CF Reader?

I have 3 CF cards from Wrap 1E boards that no longer function.
I have one WRAP 1E board that seems to function but will not allow the entire v3.30.npk to be uploaded using WINBOX.
Is there any other way to get these CF Cards updated with the newer ROS.
I do have a CF Card reader in my WIN 7 PC.
Any suggestions would be great.

you can use netinstall to push the routeros image to the CF from windows, and then remove it and place it into the board and it should finish the install hopefully.

So that would be a new install not an upgrade correct? Don’t want to lose the license.

You have the option (default) in netinstall to save the license.

Thank you. I will research Net Install and if it takes a serial port I will try to find a PC that has one.

netinstall doesnt need a PC, just a mounted HDD. just double quadruple check that you aren’t overwriting your system drives without knowing. I’ve seen it done. Install the CF after you’ve started netinstall so you can tell which hdd shows up.
