Can Hotspot be enabled across two interfaces?

Can this be done:

Three Interfaces:
ADSL
LAN
Wireless

Run Hotspot Setup wizard and specify Wireless Interface.
Run Hotspot Setup wizard again and specify LAN Interface.

I have tried it and it appears that it is only working on the first (Wireless) interface, but I don’t know if I am doing something wrong.

I’m not sure why you would want to put a Hotspot on the ADSL interface, it should be sufficient to put the LAN and Wireless interfaces onto a Hotspot.

You would have to use bridging. Create a bridge, add the interfaces to it and add the Hotspot to the Bridge.

eugenevdm, yes it should work without any problems.
HotSpot is applied per interface, that’s why if interface are not bridged, separate HotSpots should work fine (if you have bridged interfaces, then only one HotSpot for bridge interface is required).
What kind of problems do you have on LAN interface with HotSpot ?

Serjejs,

I will go the the client and confirm the problem in the next week.

As I recall when you run wizard you have to specify name of hotspot. On first wizard run (Wireless) I specified clientname.hotspot and on second wizard run (LAN) I specified clientname.hotspot2.

As I recall then when you try to access a page even though the browser redirects to clientname.hotspot2 (LAN) you get a page not found. However as I said I will go to the client and confirm this information.

As a workaround I don’t mind bridging the interfaces if you think this is a suitable workaround or a better method.

eugenevdm,
I think you are talking about ‘dns name’ configuration at ‘ip hotspot setup’. You can try to leave them blank, as HotSpot page will be provided for them anyway, when user is trying to access any HTTP page.

Thank you that worked like a bomb!
