can I back to back to poe injectors rather than use switch?

I have a solar powered facility that we are looking to add another xr9 distribution point to. We already have one xr9 and a xr5 (back haul) on a 433 board but feel it wise not to colocated two xr9s on the same board???

The plan is to put the second xr9 in it’s own enclosure and run a POE cable to it to power it. I am wondering if I can connect the two enclosures at the power injector by simply attaching a straight through cable to the network side of each of the two poe injectors rather than go through a switch. (The idea is to conserve as much electricity as possible. I know a switch is a small amount but… Otherwise we would use the switch for port throttling but I can do that in tik anyway.)

Any thoughts?

Yes! but i like using Ethernet surge in between to prevent data surge from one side to the other.

we have done that but for some reason, we sometimes had to use a cross over cable

What do you mean data surge?

Could I simply implement some tx/rx throttling in the access list for something like this or are you talking about breaking the network up in case of lightning surges?

Yes using a data surge arrestor! Ethernet Surge protector will prevent the effect of surge from one radio to another when you link PoE to PoE directly. If switch is involved, it will serve that purpose. This is just an additional advice as it will work with or without it. Experience taught me to always do this.
