Can I "encapsulate" router using a MikroTik 350G?

(Sorry I placed this Topic on The Dude by mistake)

Here is the problem.

Some months ago we replaced an ancient Internet Satellite service for a 3G Modem, all this at a remote location.

It has been a great success, 8 times more bandwidth for a 1/6 of the old price.

Our 3G internet provider gave us a Huawei E 968 router. That’s the better router they “endorse”

We want now to setup a L2TP VPN between this location an our central office.

The problem is the E 968 router, it is almost no configurable at all. We can not configure it as a bridge, there are space for 10 or 12 rules for port forwarding, DMZ configuration is possible.

Can we configure a MikroTik (we have RouterBoard 750G with version 4.11) so the E 968 provides Internet to the MT and then use the MT as a router for the rest of the network, thus allowing us to setup the L2TP VPN we want.

Thank you in advance for your prompt response.

Yep, I don’t see where it would be a problem. Maybe if your provider blocked l2tp, but not likely.

I would also upgrade to 5.7.
