Can i use 1watt (30dbm card) x3 in RB433AH

I want to know at what max power of miniPCI card i can use in RB433AH.

is there any other option to do this like any other RB which have 1 miniPCI slot and use 1 watt miniPCI card each i am having three 120 degree 18dbi sector paneel antennas.

and i want high power miniPCI card to use like per antenna 1 watt card so i use three cards of 1 watt i dont think that RB433AH can support three 1 watt cards in one.

please suggest your solutions for the same.

RB433 offers up to 18W output to extension cards

Dear Normis,

When i purchase this RB433AH my vendor in India told me that it only support max 30dbm that is 1 watt max only.

But as per your answer it support up to 18watts …? is there any risk for using three cards of each 1 watts or above.

Please clarify. do you have miniPCI cards which supports 1watt and above.

Birender

There is no limit to how much power your card outputs. The only limit is - can the RouterBOARD power this card. Like I said, the RB can supply up to 18W total for the 3 cards.

So yes, you can use these cards you found.

Hi Normis,

I Found this minipci card

NSI-166AGH (400mw)
Operating voltage is 3.3v ±5%
Power consumption in continuous TX 1200mA
Power consumption in continuous TX 450mA

Voltage & Amp = Watts
3.3V & 1200mA = 3.9599999999999995 watts

so can i use this combination of three cards in RB433AH

if i am wrong then please correct me.

I am attaching its specification along with this post.

yes, you can

Where you really need to be careful when using three radio cards in an RB433 is the size of the card heatsink and rf shield. The triple shot connector has especially tight clearances between the two lower card slots.

I don’t believe you will be able to physically fit three 1 watt cards in an RB433 because there won’t be enough clearance for large heatsinks.

Most likely, the only high power cards (over 300mw) that you can fit together in all three slots will be Mikrotik brand cards as they are smartly designed to fit in RouterBoards.

Hi Birendra,

Have you used the NSI 166 a/g/h card? It is new for me but my vendor suggests it.

I asked for the Alfa 500 mW Card actually. I think TOM is right fixing 3 NSI with MMCX type ant. connectors is going to be tough.

Normis, I would like your take, what it should be NSI 400mW or Alfa 500mW

Alfa 500mw provide peak 1000mw (Ideal) output and average 500mw (During load transmission)

i conform from the vendor.
