can people hack or use brute force attack to my hotspot??

I have setup my hotspot with http-chap. There are 3 people that is trying to gues the correct username and password. Can this cause any problems? I have strong password an only default authorization is enabled so that anyone can connect to the hotspot.

Brute force attack is when the attacker tried to gues the correct password and username. That is what n+ manual say

Not likely. I use FreeRADIUS for authentication, and it has brute force hack protection. It only allows one try per second on the user/password. Any attempts during that second are ignored. If you use a good username and password, the potential hackers would be better off playing the lottery.

LOL  I going to try to enable radius thanx

BTW, if these “unwelcome users” become a nuisance, you can use
/int wireless access-list
to block their mac addresses from connecting to your wireless system. They will get the point!

ADD: A good password is the best protection. A password with only 5 characters that contains upper and lower case letters and numbers, has 916,132,832 combinations. My password is much longer than that.
