i have 400 clients.
i want to run DHCP server, PCC load balancing with 4 WAN (20Mbps each), hotspot (400 clients), and also PCQ method..
Can RB450G handle this with 400 cllients?
i would consider a larger board for this job. 1100 AH (2x?) would be perfect.
I am no expert at this, but judging from my experience I think this might be a bit under powered.
I can only estimate what you would need. But 400 simultaneous clients isn’t something to sneeze at.
Combining 80Mbit NAT (takes about 30%-35% on that CPU), load-balancing, hotspot functionality and PCQ limiting is probably going to take the steam out of it.
To be safe I’d choose to go with a RB1100AH or even the AHx2. The RB1100AH is 4 times more powerful as the 450G and the AHx2 even doubles that to 8 times.
But maybe someone with experience with a similar setup can comment!
Short answer no, Maybe good for 20-30Mbps with extensive IP services, but not crypto. You do not want to run things near their limits.
Look at the new CCR
“400 hotspot clients” it is very big number. You need only CCR series router. I`m afraid even RB1100AHx2 can not handle what you need.
all the clients are students… i am use it at hostel…
How about RB1100AH X2 i just use it as hotspot and pcq method or QoS, and load balancing and NAT i use another RB1100AH X2?
it is possible?
Yep and with hotspot, pcc, and QoS I would recommend using two routers.
