Can I use the data connectivity (e.g. to plug in disk storage) to the mAP lite’s USB socket, if I use a powered hub perhaps?
I don’t know if a powered hub will pump power into the host port, but you can definitely use a USB OTG+Charge cable like this https://www.dx.com/p/cy-u2-165-bk-micro-usb-male-to-usb-female-w-usb-male-otg-cable-black-15cm-2026276#.XJjOJJhKg-U
That’s what I use to add a USB 4G dongle to my mAP2n
Perfect, thank you.
I used one and it didn’t work. It doesn’t show up a USB memory stick or a 4G USB stick ![]()
The same cable worked to let me read a USB memory stick on my Android phone though.
USB data lines are not connected on mAP lite.
Please consider mAP:

as it has full USB functionality.
Thank you antonsb
is this still true? I can see that map lite and cap lite boards are likely the same. Cap lite has usb fully functional: https://mikrotik.com/product/RBcAPL-2nD-307
I have made attempts to use mAP Lite as a wireless network adapter via it’s micro usb, but I haven’t been able to make my PC acknowledge the USB connection to the router. That result in my understanding confirms that the data paths are not connected at all. There is however a misleading yet official information that the PL7400 according to docs is compatible with mAP Lite - how is data transferred in that case?
the PL7400 according to docs is compatible with mAP Lite
Never tested the mAP Lite, but “hAP Lite” should be compatible, with the proper PWRLine enabled USB power supply.

I do see the pwr-line interface on my old mAP Lite ( factory firmware 3.41, now on ROS 6.49.17). There must be “some” data connection then in that USB interface !? Is this not USB?
