I run CAPsMAN on a ATLGM (the packages installed are routeros and wireless both in version 7.23). I have three existing waps of various models but they're all ac models. I've purchased an SXTsq 5 ax. To get the ax to work under CAPsMAN I need to install wifi-qcom.
Can ac and ax devices be controlled under CAPsMAN running from the wifi-qcom package?
I appreciate that variations on this question have been asked before but I haven't seen anyone successfully running 'wireless' and 'wifi-qcom' side by side. Each disables the other when rebooting. Thank yoooooooou!
Not from the same capsman, I am fairly sure you can run both versions of capsman at the same time, but on 2 different routers. In this case, you could put the config on the sxtsq5 ax, and set the radios on it to use that config (wifi capsman isn't used on the actual wifi capsman server, its radios use the config directly)
The CAPs can run a WIFI/Capsman and a Wireless/CAPsMAN side by side.
Only draw back, the one setup will not know what the other setup does, means if one client hops to an AP of the other configuration, you will have to configure your access list to only allow certain quality to connect. And - if you have dumb intel 201 client chips, they will always want to connect to the AX, even though the signal is around 90db and the AC has a 60db signal.

If you compare the WIFI package and the Wireless package, the WIFI is "simplistic". Way less options to mess your configuration. And that IMHO is a big +
