Cannot client to WPA using passphrase

I have a RB 711 that i am trying to connect as a station to a Motorola access point using a WPA passphrase. I cannot get an association to save my life. I tried setting up a security profile using the passphrase to no avail, I also converted the passphrase to hex to no avail. What am i doing wrong?

in unicast cipher and group cipher select tkip and unchecked aes ccm in your security profile.maybe your problem will be solved…
if not give me model of your Motorola AP to check it.
