Cannot connect B3+N78 With STC KSA Operator

Good day to all,

I have a Mikrotik Chateau 5g , Router OS 7.2.3 (stable).

I have a very strange Issue,

First of all, I live In SaudiArabia and we have 5G NSA (N77,N78,N41) Which is mikrotik chateau 5g support all of NSA Bands we have. Also LTE Bands like: B1,B3,B20,B28,B40 etc...

When I tried to connect B3+N78 It's give me LTE on STC Operator. ( Not 5G NSA).

I tried switch to Zain KSA Operator ( By the way : Zain KSA support N78 & N41)

And surprise ! It's connected 5G NSA ( B3 + N41 ) But I can't connect to N78.

I tried from my IPhone 13 & Netgear M5 MR5100 and I can connect to B3+N78 without any Issue. So, It's mean I have a coverage for 5G NSA Band N78 and everything Is good from my side.

Is there any tip's , solution to fix this and give me successful connection B3 + N78 on Microtik ?

  • NOTICE * : I tried to change Apn and configure the lte band without luck :frowning: ...

Here's some photo's about LTE Cell monitor and It's shown there's N78:

Anyone expert or from support need my supout.rif ?

Is It save to send It here or with PM ?.

Sometimes the MNO (mobile network operator) might control the connection depending on the unit’s IMEI number. This may happen for instance if the MNO sells their own equipment for mobile broadband and they want to make sure only their devices connects properly. I know some MNO that check the IMEI number to prevent that an extra SIM-cards ment for a tablet is not used in a mobile hotspot or like.

In some cases it might be solved by copying the IMEI number from an “approved” device to the Mikrotik, tho I’m not sure if it’s possible with the LTE/5G module used by Chateau.

I don’t have any issue I live in QATAR and i use Vodafone operator provider

Fixed by upgrade LTE firmware to RG502QEAAAR13A02M4G

Glad to hear it’s fixed, upgrading the modem firmware was going to be my first suggestion.
