Cannot connect to AP in station bridge mode (but station works)

Hi.
I’d like to set up a repeater for my WLAN. My main router is a hAP ax2 with the 2.4 GHz interface in AP mode. My other router is an RB951Ui-2HnD which successfully connects to the main router in station mode. I also successfully connected them by Ethernet, making sure that they were properly configured to bridge the two segments together. But when I switch the wireless interface on the RB to station bridge, the interface is stuck “searching for network”.
Both routers run firmware and ROS version 7.14.3. I performed the initial connection by scanning for networks and connecting to the appropriate one (as well as configuring the security profile). This is my first time trying to bridge segments over WLAN. Am I missing some configuration steps, is the hardware incompatible, or do I need to provide further information?

Which drivers are you using on the hAP ax2? Likely https://help.mikrotik.com/docs/display/ROS/WiFi#WiFi-Lostfeatures

That was likely the problem, and I hope it’s something that can get fixed in the future. For now I solved it with an EoIP tunnel. Thanks.

It’s not likely to get solved. Right now bridge functionality is not compatible between different generations of wireless drivers. If compatibility was easy to achieve, I’d expect to happen already. Specially so as the backwards compatibility has to be added to new drivers, which are chipset vendor’s. And I’m not holding my breath waiting for Qualcomm to implement MT’s proprietary extensions in their driver suite.
