Cannot connect to wireless network.

Hello, everyone.

I am not a total newbie to Mikrotik, but I haven’t been using it for a while.

Now I have bought a mAP2n wireless router (which was mistakenly marketed a wireless access point !).

And I have the following question: basically, I haven’t made any modifications to the default configuration, however the wireless connection is slow and ugly. Basically, it takes on average about 40 seconds to get an IP address from the device, and often it isn’t obtained at all. Even if it is obtained, the connection is about as slow as a dialup link (it takes few minutes to load the Webbox).
My laptop (Microsoft Surface Pro 3) is about 50 centimeters from the device and it never had any problems connecting to other wireless networks.

Moreover, if I close the lid on my laptop and then open it again, the wifi connection stops ultimately. (I don’t even see the ESSID in the wireless networks search and I have to reboot the device for it to appear in the search results again.)

Is it a normal behaviour, or did I just buy a counterfeited device?
