I have a RB800 running V6.7
We have removed all firewall and mangle rules and in fact set connection tracking to NO
Connection tracking is still in full operation and will not disable. This seems very odd to me considering
that we have been able to force it off on our other routers.
What we are also finding is that the auto setting does not cause tracking to disable even in routers with all firewall rules disabled.
We have to force it to no.
Anyone have any thoughts on this? Seems a bit buggy to me.
We found the problem. It turns out that my admin uploaded the tile router 6.7 firmward into the RB800 and for some weird reason it actually
took the upgrade. As soon as he loaded the correct version connection tracking could be disabled.
But why didnt the RB800 refuse the tile software and why did the tile software even work?
Well, the problem is cropping up all over the network. Wherever we try to disable connection tracking with V6.7 it will not turn off.
Some replies have said things like “Maybe you missed a rule” No we have not and besides, if I set connection tracking to “no” it should turn off regardless of whether we missed a rule or not.
I am having to downrev routers to 6.5 to disable connection tracking. Seems like a bug to me.
Mikrotik people, are you getting this? An acknowledgement would be nice.
We found that if there were entries in the address list, connection tracking forces itself on.
This is true even if none of the address list entries are being used.
As soon as I removed the address list entries, connection tracking turned off.
Still a bug, but this works around it.
