After installing ROS 6.0rc5, an upgrade to 6.0rc6 left the router (RB2011UAS-2HnD-IN) unable to boot for unknown reasons. I have followed all directions I can find for reinstalling ROS from the boot loader. I can’t install ROS. The router powers on, starts the boot loader, netboots, and reports to NetInstall that it’s ready for installation.
No matter what package or packages I select for installation, NetInstall (6.0rc6) says that it’s offering the software to the router, then “Installing”. After about ten seconds of inactivity, the installation times out. There’s no error message. ROS is not reinstalled, and the router can’t load anything except the bootloader (latest ver). I’ve tried with one partition and with two partitions.
Older versions of NetInstall don’t work, either. Older versions of ROS don’t work. Keeping all settings (there are no settings, now–I tried repartitioning) doesn’t work. Retyping the key doesn’t work. I’ve tried turning off Windows Firewall. I’ve tried disabling every other thing that could possibly prevent the installation from working. I’ve tried installing the all-in-one “NPK” file, and I’ve tried using individual packages–yes, including the “system” package.
The serial console reports that it’s ready for installation, but installation does not take place. Now what?
